This novel shows how society affects an individual person because in it the main character, Katniss Evedeen, is strongly against the ways of the capital and the annual Hunger Games. When the tributes for District 12 were drawn and Katniss heard her sisters name, Primrose, called she automatically knew that she would have to take place in the capitals games in order to keep Primrose safe. These games also change her viewpoint on the capitals decisions.
The main character Katniss has changed since being introduced because she has became more watchful and observant of her surroundings. I think that this change has happened because she wants to try to stay alive in order to help protect her family. An event that may have encouraged this change would be the reaping because since Prim was chosen she volunteered as tribute to keep her from participating in the games.
